About Lockhart-Smith

Art has always played an important role in my life and has been a constant through both the good and bad times. I am a big believer in the health and social benefits that participating in art can have, from creating a simple doodle to developing your skills in a class.

I currently live in West Sussex in Shoreham by Sea with my partner Neil and our lurcher Poppy. This means we are very lucky to be able to enjoy the beautiful South Downs, the sea and the bright lights of Brighton!

I create colourful abstract wall art inspired by the environment around me. Working in acrylic paint, monoprint, collage and stitch I create multi-layered pieces that reflect the shapes, energy and history of the land we occupy.

I like to work with a limited palette of four colours and white on wooden panels, I try not to put my work behind glass, varnishing it instead, as I like the work to be able to be touched.
